The Laurel
The Laurel wedding venue transports guests to the heart of the Texas Hill Country without ever leaving Dallas – Fort Worth. Located on over 6 acres of land and nestled next to the Cottonwood Creek green belt, The Laurel is the perfect setting for whatever event you may be planning.
The Color Palette
Jenn absolutely loves color and her main request once we delved into the design is that the wedding be colorful, especially the flowers! As Dallas wedding planners and designers, we knew we could deliver exactly that. We decided to stick with white as a base, for the linens and paper in particular, so that all of the flowers would really pop! We used blue as our neutral choosing to bring it in with the napkins, cake table linen, and the escort cards.
For flowers, we chose to go with coral, pinks, orange, yellow, and just a little pop of red and lilac. The venue has a wonderful beamed ceiling, so we were able to do a large statement installation of flowers hanging over the head table. My favorite pop of color came by way of the little kumquats that we popped into the centerpieces!
From their wedding feature in D Weddings…
Returning to Jennifer and Davis’ college grounds in Austin made for a perfect day, which included hiking and dining at Uchiko. That night, Davis proposed at Auditorium Shores, with the downtown skyline in the background. Their wedding at The Laurel Dallas was filled with lush pink and yellow displays and plenty of sentiment, as Jennifer’s mother delivered a heartfelt speech paying tribute to the bride’s grandmother. –Olivia Gussoni, D Weddings
